Import Fees Notice – U.S. Deliveries

Effective immediately, orders shipped to U.S. addresses may be subject to import duties and fees.

Vendor-specific notes:
Import fees may apply to orders fulfilled by Klearz Inc. and Flame Lenses going to the US, but orders from Klearz PA, Klearz TX and Klearz OH remain duty free as they are domestic shipments.

Why this happens:
Most of Klearz Inc's products are made in Canada and qualify as USMCA-originating, which means they aren’t subject to the extra tariffs introduced under the current U.S. administrations. However, this is still a new process and standard U.S. duties may still apply based on the product’s HS code. Certain third-party items ship from other locations (Flame lenses) and may also incur import duties; these items are clearly marked on their product pages.

Changes to de minimis exemption:

In the past, commercial courier shipments under $800 typically qualified for the de minimis exemption and were usually not subject to duties or brokerage fees.

As of August 29, 2025, the de minimis exemption has ended. All imports—regardless of value—are now subject to standard duties and customs fees. Orders valued at $800 or more were already affected by this rule; now it applies to all orders from Canada to the US.

Customer guidance:
We are actively working to ensure our products are properly classified so that import duties are minimized or eliminated whenever possible. If you are charged duties, you may also wish to contact your courier’s customs brokerage directly with your tracking number. Providing information that your product qualifies under USMCA can sometimes help expedite proper classification and reduce fees.

We remain committed to advocating for the correct classification of our products and will keep customers informed of any updates or changes.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate these requirements.
